Our Community

'Single Parents' Wellbeing' (SPW) is encouraging us all to raise our steps to raise money in March

In Wales, there are 161,836 lone parent households, and 1 in 4 dependent children are in a single parent family. SPW is a peer-led, compassionate and connecte approach to being in a single parent household.  Our misison is to improve the mental wellbeing of single parent families and empower them to thrive.

SPW is a community that has grown from volunteer organised outdoor walks and meet-ups in 2016, to now being a social enterprise with over 3300 people in the community We are research partners with Public Health Wales and Swansea University, and we have a learning partnership with Mental Health Wales. SPW is the only single parents focused organisation in Wales.

SPW is launching a fabulous fundraiser for the month of March ‘Steps for Connection’. March 21st is Single Parents Day, which is why we have picked March as the month to ask people to walk 161,000 steps, one for each of the single parent families in Wales.  It’s a challenge that feels big but that can be achieved simply when working together.

If you would like to look at the challenge the details are here.
If you would like to check us out as an organisation, please do look at our website. For any questions or more details please do reach out to sarah@singleparentswellbeing.com

An Invitation from Llandaff Cathedral

I hope this message finds you well.

I’m writing from Llandaff Cathedral to share a wonderful musical opportunity for children aged 7–13 who love to sing. Our Majestas Kids music group meets weekly during term time, offering a fun and nurturing environment for children to develop their voices, learn to read music, and enjoy singing together.

  • Wednesdays, 4:30–5:30pm (children welcome from 4:00pm for refreshments)
  • Led by our Cathedral Animateur, Rachel Kilby
  • £25 per term or £60 per year

The group is open to all children and no audition is required. We would be very grateful if you could share this and the attached flyer with families who may be interested.

To sign-up, they would need to fill in this short form: https://llandaffcathedral.churchsuite.com/-/forms/c2xtb833

For questions and information please contact:

Rachelkilby@llandaffcathedral.org.uk

Thank you so much for helping us spread the word and for all you do to encourage a love of music in young people.

Warm regards,

Mehdi
