A few easy ‘wins’:
- Please book holidays outside of term time. Primary school children have 175 days per year when they are not expected to attend. Although holidays themselves are undoubtedly enjoyable, when a child misses school for these extended periods of time, it has a significant impact on their wellbeing and friendships, as well as their academic progress.
- Sniffles and colds are part of school life. Your child is safe in school with mild symptoms - staff will support them and we will let you know if they become too unwell to stay in school.
- Keep in touch and let us know if you are facing any difficulties getting your child to school. We will do our best to support you, including offering to put you in touch with organisations outside of school that can help.
- We understand that it is sometimes not appropriate to send your child to school (if they are suffering from a very contagious and serious illness, for example). If this is the case, please let us know in good time. Not knowing where a pupil is during school hours is a major safeguarding concern; the school is obliged to do everything it can to make sure that your child is safe; this includes asking for a supportive home visit from our attendance officer, Scott.
If you have any questions about attendance or punctuality, please let us know. Either Scott or a member of our school staff will be happy to chat to you. Remember:
EVERY DAY COUNTS - WE ARE HAPPY TO HELP
