A day at Cardiff Castle: Discovering Cardiff’s wartime past
This week, we explored a range of shapes to evaluate their structural strengths, before planning and designing our own model Anderson shelters. We then applied key practical skills, including accurate measuring, cutting and joining, to begin constructing our designs.
This week we created powerful, emotive sunset air raid artwork, explored and defined key vocabulary from our new evacuee novel, and began developing our Popeth Amdanaf I multimedia projects.
We are immersing ourselves in life during World War Two as we become ‘Children at War’. To experience what life was really like, we have created a blackout classroom, received our own ration books to collect rations, and mapped the journey from London to the Welsh countryside as part of the evacuation experience.
