Class teachers: Miss Carrington and Mrs Davies (Wednesdays)
Teaching assistant: Mrs Lawrence
In Progression Step 2 this term we are focusing on humanities and expressive arts.
As part of our topic we will be writing poetry, creating multimedia presentations, performing dance and designing our coat of arms. There is a great focus on castles and life long, long ago.
As part of our topic we will look at urban landscapes. In numeracy, we will be learning about number, measurement, fractions, position and measurement. We will consolidate this through our Big Maths.
Eisteddfod activities such as recitals, handwriting, poetry, art and singing will also be covered this half term. We will also send home an activity linked to the topic and this will be judged for our Eisteddfod.
In PE lessons we will be creating dances including Welsh dance for the Eisteddfod. Later in the term, we will be developing our teamwork and ball skills. Our PE day is Thursday. Please make sure your child is wearing a suitable kit.
We will continue to develop our understanding of our values:
Respect
Aspiration
Teamwork
Equity.
If you arrive before 8:20am please wait in the playground where your teacher or an adult from the class will come and collect your child. If you arrive after this time an adult will be ready to collect your child from you as you pass through the gates. Please do not linger in this area, the staff will supervise the children when they are taking off their coats and coming into the classroom.
Autumn 2 Homework
Homework has been set on the children's Seesaw account.
Your child will also be given a printed copy of the maths and literacy tasks.
Please read the top of each slide so that you know when each task is to be completed.
Autumn 1 - Homework
Dear Parent / Carer,
Homework will be going out on Seesaw. There are two pages for each week.
One page is based on your child's literacy work in class and the other is based on the mathematics we are completing over this half tern
I have included lots of practical activities for your child to do, such as play games, matching, ordering and spelling. The hard copies are to accompany the homework on seesaw, the resources can be used to support your child with the mathematics activities. There are some links to spelling and phonic games as well as some mathematics games.
If you need any further support or guidance with this, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Bug Club books and phonics activities will also be shared with you on a regular basis.
Thank you
Mrs Davies
